Hidden Fire Hydrants
The fire district, in order to provide fire protection for you and your
neighbors, relies on easily found and used fire hydrants or drafting sites
for water. Finding and accessing these hydrants in the event of an emergency
is critical. However if they are hidden by vegetation they are difficult to
find. This can be a major problem for a firefighting crew. We would like to
enlist your help with a solution for this problem.
We need your cooperation is this continuous need to clear grass and shrubs
away from the hydrant to allow rapid location and easy access under
emergency conditions. If you and your neighbors could help keep the hydrant
visible and free from obstructions, it would help us greatly.
If you are not able to clear obstructions, or if it appears your hydrant is
damaged or otherwise needs attention, please call us so that action can be
taken to restore the hydrant to full use before it is needed and found to be
usable.
